Who We Are

In the Arab Republic of Egypt, the International Journal of Jurisprudence, Judiciary and Legislation (IJDJL) stands as a rigorously peer‑reviewed legal scientific journal. The Journal is officially accredited by a resolution of the Supreme Council of Universities and ranks at the pinnacle of Egyptian legal periodicals, having achieved the highest academic classification (7/7).

The IJDJL was established pursuant to a formal protocol concluded between the Judges’ Club of Egypt and several of the most venerable law faculties in Egypt and the Arab world, along with other prominent bodies concerned with legal scientific research (link to the protocol). The Journal is published electronically on the Egyptian Knowledge Bank platform three times a year in February, June and October.

The Journal boasts a national (Egyptian) editorial board composed of a select cadre of academic judges and Egyptian law professors, complemented by an international editorial board formed of distinguished legal scholars of global renown. This unique combination of national and international members, together with the integration of theoretical legal scholarship and judicial application, grants the Journal an exceptional and distinguished character — one that places it rightfully at the forefront of legal scientific journals in Egypt and across the Arab world.

On the international Western stage, the Journal is among the first specialised legal scientific periodicals in Egypt to be accepted and indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).

Regionally in the Arab world, and according to the 2025 classification of the Arab Citation & Impact Factor (ARCIF), the Journal attained an impact factor of 0.9057 — the highest rate in the field of law. This achievement qualified it for rating Q2 and enabled it to secure the second position among all Arab legal journals published. Notably, ARCIF bases its classification on 32 rigorous global criteria. To examine these criteria, please visit: https://emarefa.net/arcif/criteria/

It is worth mentioning that the ARCIF institution is overseen by a supervisory and coordinating board comprising representatives from several Arab and international bodies, including the UNESCO Regional Office for Education in the Arab States (Beirut), the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Ma’refa (e‑Marefa) database, and a scientific committee of eminent scholars and experts from several Arab countries and the United Kingdom.

What precedes vividly demonstrates the Journal’s paramount importance, weight and leadership in the scientific community — both within Egypt and at the regional and international levels.

In accordance with the standards established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and in Arabic, English and French, the Journal publishes original legal articles of a constructive and practical nature relating to jurisprudence and comparative law, commentary on judicial precedents, and legislative and judicial reform, in addition to summaries of doctoral dissertations. In light of this, its name, Jurisprudence, Judiciary and Legislation, is entirely fitting.

As a condition for publication, submitted articles are subject to a dual‑blind, impartial scholarly evaluation, conducted by a select panel of the finest jurists, law scholars and academic judges in Egypt and abroad.

The International Journal of Jurisprudence, Judiciary and Legislation (IJDJL) is a journal governed by international standards, established with the aim of bridging the gap between theory and practice in legal fields; to elevate the science of law, reinforce its role, and enhance its impact in the Egyptian and regional societies, affirming its sovereign role in the governance of the state and its institutions, so that it becomes a resource available to scholars, judges, legislators and decision‑makers alike.
